It is our belief that ALL children in los angeles, regardless of economic background, deserve a wonderful, enriching, creative & educational summer experience! The CLF started inviting Underserved Youth & families Living in homeless shelters and agencies serving them since the summer of 1993. Youth in Los Angeles coming from underserved neighborhoods have historically less chance of experiencing and enjoying amazing summer camp experiences-and CLF provides this to underserved Youth each year-FREE of charge to all participating campers. Over 75,000 have been served through this program since 1993.

WE ALWAYS HEAR THAT THE GIFTS WE GIVE THE CHILDREN THROUGH PROJECT ANGEL WINGS ARE OFTEN THE ONLY GIFTS THAT THEY WILL RECEIVE THAT YEAR…The CLF’s Project Angel Wings Program has sponsored Holiday Parties for over 15,000 youth coming from historically underserved neighborhoods in LA County. They attend our wonderful, annual Holiday Events, and participate in our amazing gift distributions. At our own CLF in-person holiday events, each child with his or her very own personalized gift bag filled with 7 or 8 new gifts of the latest new toys and gifts. Delectable food, DJs, great live entertainment, festive crafts, games, and a incredible feeling of community and family spirit complete the super festive and fun parties. Wonderful local groups & national company friends such as SNAP Inc, California Supply, Rite Aid, SNAP Inc, Capital One, Rare Beauty, the LOEWS Santa Monica Beach Hotel, KAYO, and many others sponsor these heart-warming events. In addition, we collect toys from amazing friends, schools and businesses who host great toy drives and gift collections-such as JAKKs Pacific, OSEA Skincare, Agape International Spiritual Institute, GoodRX, PJT Partners, FTI Consulting, Northwestern Mutual, RQ Agency, Swingers Diner in West Hollywood, Lincoln Avenue Capital and many others. CLF also delivers additional toys to different agencies and shelters-such as Homeboy Industries, and actually go down to Midnight Mission on Christmas Day itself, where we have joined our dear friend Dick Van Dyke in giving away amazing gifts all morning. It’s an amazing way to bring the spirit of the season to those who truly need it the most. This is an incredible sponosrship opportunity for companies, businesses and community groups.

CLF Leadership Scholarships aids our students with specific expenses-books, extra course fees, rent, and even basics like meals and clothing. Today, the focus of this program is meeting one-on-one with the students to help with college essays and applications when needed, and meeting the young adults at the Capital One Cafe in Santa Monica-meeting there for Finance Workshops, special events, and a safe place to discuss challenge and difficulties. Today, many of the students in our Care through College Program are already in college, or ready to go! Many of the core youth receiving scholarships from the CLF we have known since they were children- and we are confident in their abilities to succeed and become extraordinary leaders in their chosen field! They are truly awesome. Over 125 college scholarships have been distributed to date, and counting! CLF Student Ambassador Program is an incredible opportunity for Los Angeles-area high school students to learn about fundraising, building community, raising awareness for a great cause-all while gaining valuable community service hours for graduation.. Join us at the start of each semester, as we brainstorm fundraise, participate in the CLF’s amazing Project Angel Wings Holiday Program in November and December, and help us awareness for our work! You (or your teen) will gain amazing experience-on so many levels, and will only enrich the entire academic experience…

In 1993, when we began running our Camp for All Program, the CLF started meeting families living in shelters who needed a step-up to move into their own homes. CLF then created an Adopt-A-Family Program (now called the Vita Network) in 1994, and began finding sponsors who then helped fund the families to move into a new apartment, providing furniture, household goods and clothes and financial stipends for one full year. Programs spun organically out of this-such as our existing Vita Network, which provides in-kind and financial aid to a specific group of families we have worked with for years in LA Couty, and our Care through College Program (after the parents in our Vita Network urgeded us to begin a tutoring program) and our Scholarship Program for deserving teens sprung up from there. This program also allows members of our local companies, young professionals, students, regular moms and dads just like YOU- the amazing opportunity to create terrific,fun, memorable and enriching FIELD TRIP OPPORTUNITIES for our youth and families-a wonderful volunteer experience . This allows them to enjoy and experience Los Angeles and the hidden gems it has to offer, such as exclusive movie screenings, dining at and meeting the chefs of award-winning restaurants, heart-warming family dinners, and trips to museums, movies, and awesome local events, festivals and more…
